My Only Problem With ViSalus

by Alex

ViSalus is a dynamic health and wellness company that has gone mainstream in the US. What does this mean for you as a potential MLM business opportunity? There’s MONEY to be made.

As of writing this post ViSalus generates $1.2 million/day in revenue, has experienced a 3000% growth rate in 18 months which is extraordinary and sign up 80,000 new members every month!!! Can you say Ca-CHING??? ViSalus is off the hook with explosive growth and income earning potential. They’ve given out over 5,000 BMWs with their luxury car program and the excitement from this company is being felt throughout the industry.

But is the possibility of getting a BMW the only reason someone should join ViSalus? Absolutely not. So let’s look at why you should or should not join ViSalus.

ViSalus Sciences, backed by billion dollar giant Blyth Inc. officially launched on March 3rd, 2005.

The ViSalus Corporate team is led by CEO Ryan Blair and the experience they have in Network Marketing leadership is extensive. The health and wellness market is very competitive and many companies don’t last their first year. ViSalus has been growing for over 6 years now and is booming.

ViSalus launched their flagship program called “Body by Vi” in November 2009, which is another reason for the growing buzz and momentum they are seeing. The Body By Vi program is a weight loss and body transformation challenge and can be entered by anyone at any stage or level of fitness. This is a great idea first introduced by Beachbody back in 2004. The 90 Day challenge gets Visalus distributors and customers involved and active in buying and consuming the ViSalus products.

The ViSalus Sciences Product Range has products spanning weight loss, energy and performance, along with general health and wellness products. The product that rocketed the company to success is called Vi-Pak which is a patented product made up of Minerals, Vitamins, Anti-oxidants and Omega vitals.

The ViSalus Compensation Plan

A major factor when joining any MLM business opportunity is the Compensation Plan. The ViSalus Sciences Compensation Plan is based on a unilevel structure that pays 5% down 8 levels. You have the ability to earn on more depth in your organization as you advance through the ranks. There are Fast Start bonuses, personal customer commissions on a graduating scale to encourage retail sales, leadership pools, special promotions and the buzz creating BMW car bonus program. The Compensation Plan seems extremely generous and if you know how to sign up new reps and grow your downline you’ll do well.

As always, when it comes to any company’s Compensation Plan you need to work this out for yourself. This is called doing your due diligence.  To learn more about the ViSalus Compensation Plan CLICK HERE for an extensive list of videos that go into great depth on how you can make money.

As is the case with many MLM companies, ViSalus Sciences doesn’t do a great job at teaching  you how to explode your MLM business opportunity on the internet. ViSalus has a solid Compensation Plan, high-quality products and experienced leadership.

And if you can add to that an explosive internet marketing strategy that allows you to drive traffic, generate more leads and get more reps quickly I guarantee you’ll do very well.

So What’s My Only Problem With ViSalus?

Do any of you remember the famous episode in 1988 when Oprah wheeled out the little red wagon carrying 67lbs of animal fat? That fat was the equivalent of her personal fat loss.

Oprah

Here’s a quote from an article written by People Magazine about Oprah’s sensational weight lost with Optifast – and inevitable weight gain.

“I’ve been dieting since 1977,” Winfrey says, “and the reason I failed is that diets don’t work. I tell people, if you’re underweight, go on a diet and you’ll gain everything you lost plus more. Now I’m trying to find a way to live in a world with food without being controlled by it, without being a compulsive eater. That’s why I say I will never diet again.”

Dr. Theodore B. VanItallie, a weight loss specialist, Professor Emeritus of Medicine at Columbia University and attending physician at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City, says, “If patients simply lose weight and then don’t make permanent changes in eating and exercise, regain is inevitable. Oprah’s experience shouldn’t be used to discourage people from legitimate weight loss, but simply to point out the problem of maintenance and to stress the long-term nature of the commitment. People must exercise, monitor their eating, and recognize early that they’re regaining weight. But often they deny it until they get so fat that they can’t hide anymore.”  ~ People Magazine

And this is my only problem with ViSalus. My wife has battled with weight issues her whole life. She’s tried every weight loss diet out there. She’s actually writing a blog about her own 90 day challenge which is her personal journey into finally understanding why she’s never been able to lose weight before. If you’re curious, read My Motivation To Lose Weight – 90 Day Challenge. Weight loss is such a highly charged emotional issue. The exuberance of weight loss followed by the despair of regaining the weight can send some people spiralling into depression.

So if you do decide to join ViSalus please give extra consideration to teaching yourself and your clients about the benefits of nutrition and a healthy exercise plan. Because once the 90 days are up they’re going to need to have corrected their poor eating habits that got them to where they needed a weight loss program in the first place.

My Final Thoughts

Success with ViSalus, and any MLM business opportunity for that matter, will come down to whether or not you have the proper tools at your disposal to get you to the top of the ViSalus Compensation Plan without having to chase all your friends and family.

As always I must make it clear that I am not an affiliate of ViSalus Sciences or any other health and wellness MLM business opportunity.

If you believe you can put your heart and soul into ViSalus then I must let you know that there is a very dynamic group of leaders who will make all the difference to your success. If you’re thinking of joining ViSalus, shoot me an email (alex@mlmmarketingsolutions.com) and I’ll put you in touch with top leaders who are hitting it right outta the ballpark with ViSalus. You’ll be in very good hands.

Here’s to YOUR success.

Hi Ron,

You make a valid point.

Anyone care to elaborate on what happens after the 90 days?

Alex

I agree with the lifestyle changes that must be made. You can’t drink shakes forever. However, Visalus will not emphasize that because then after the 90 days no one will get their shakes and they will go broke!

Hi Todd,

I’m all for the “energy and lifestyle change.”

My only problem is regarding the folks that “quit or regain.”

My heart goes out to these people. Because once again they feel they have failed at losing weight and keeping it off. This is where it becomes such an emotional issue and this is what I am hoping a company like ViSalus can address. How do you get people to make the lifestyle change and KEEP the lifestyle change?

Again, I’ve heard nothing but the best about ViSalus. People are excited, they’re revitalised – they’re PASSIONATE about what they’re doing. And that’s a great thing. Can’t fault that.

Look forward to learning about the different challenges – what shake you having for lunch?

Ok Alex :)

“We are not weight loss, we are a 90 day challenge”

The place I think Visalus has nailed it is in promoting the energy and the lifestyle change, promoting the attitude and the excitement that people can actually win the battle of the mind where it comes to health. The losing weight and keeping it off part is still up to the individual. Of course there will be folks that do their 90, or maybe don’t even make it 90, and they quit or regain.

I’ll be back with some example of the different challenges (I’m on lunch break)

Like I said, let this momentum play out and let’s see… :)

Make it a great day!

Hi Todd,

Thanks for stopping by. I would love to know more about the different challenges. As I’m not a distributor I am not privy to all the in’s and out’s of program once you’re involved.

Nothing would give me greater pleasure to know that finally someone has nailed how to lose weight and keep it off forever.

As I mentioned weight loss is such an emotional issue that can adversely affect people’s lives. I must say the one thing I do love about your community is the incredible support you give each other. There’s a lotta love there and I think this may ultimately contribute to someone’s overall success with ViSalus.

Keep the success stories coming … good news is infectious.

Enjoy your Bimmer : ) and congratulations to you!

Hi Alex… You are very accurate with the article except for one thing… ViSalus has nailed it with “the lifestyle change” concern that you expressed. I think the big success that people are having is due to the fact that most of us ARE promoting a healthier lifestyle and weight loss is just one of the “side effects”… And even though weight loss is probably the number one reason for a person to try the products, ViSalus and it’s promoters do not present it as just weight loss. I can’t disagree with anything that you said, but your “Only Problem” with ViSalus is really a problem that exists with weight loss in general and you are assuming it will be the case here. I’m so impressed with how ViSalus has promoted a certain energy that has customers jumping into another 90 day challenge after they finish their first. They encourage different challenges with different goals. In the end it is up to the individual!!! ViSalus has provided the tools and direction.

@Kathleen… respectfully, I don’t understand how a person can say “I see similarities” with this company and that company. Sure, the products are “similar” and they are all MLM, but those companies can not be compared to this company… at least not yet! There are many clues as to the differences. Let’s let it play out on both points before you all lump us in with the rest.

If both of you looked a little deeper into this company, you would see that ViSalus is living up to the legitimate concerns you both presented. If I’m wrong, I’ll turn over the placard I received when I qualified for my BMW bonus which reads “I told you so”… :)

Wishing you Life, Health and Prosperity !!!

Hi Kathleen,

Thank you for your feedback and congratulations on getting your health back on track.

Yes, the very subject of weight loss opens a whole can of worms. I think it’s a journey that everyone has to take on their own terms. I empathize with anyone struggling with this issue.

In fact my wife has struggled to lose the same 50lbs for the last 33 years and finally this year, she lost all the weight she wanted to, naturally. NO DIETING!

She did her own 90 day challenge, ate 5 meals a day, ate natural foods, gave up alcohol, did an exercise she enjoyed and dropped all the weight … seemingly quite easily.

She has just written a book about it which is now available on Amazon Kindle,“The 4 Pillars of Weight Loss.” It’s her dream to help as many people as she can get off the dieting merry-go-round.

Keep up the good work and thanks again for your feedback.

Alex

Nice article Alex. I’m not going to comment on the company, I’m not associated with Visalus but I know people who are involved. I see similarities to the Isagenix boom a few years ago and as you mentioned the Beachbody and there is Trump etc. Weight loss in our society is so misled. You are right that it is a lifestyle change as well as a mindset and it will take mental and physical work to do so. I know that I had to drop 30lbs after my divorce (I was so miserable I ate…the wrong foods), I’m tall so it is different for someone shorter in appearance. I was personally successful with Atkins and I used quality nutritionals and Whey Protein shakes balanced with excercise and changed so much of my eating habits. Male or Female and different hormones as well as thyroid, adrenal glands (big issue these days) and age all factor in. I’m happy for those who have lost the weight and also making the money, but it about more than all of that in the long term. Strength training is key as well as Ph balance/alkaline water/foods. The muscle not only looks nicer but helps with balance, burns fat and supports the entire body, especially the spine to do the job it needs to for life. Jack La Lane and his wife had it right and should be all of our inspirations. Too many are too stuck or stubborn in their old ways of thinking and eating they won’t change….I have older brothers who just shake their head at me…well, I’m in shape and don’t take any medications…one is overweight and needs 2 knees replaced now. The choice is ours to care for out bodies or not.

Hi Tanisha, thank you for your comment and I couldn’t agree with you more: ) I think it’s a brilliant incentive and I believe ViSalus is an extremely innovative and compelling business model. My only concern is for those who don’t learn how to correct their eating behavior that got them into trouble in the first place. There’s nothing more soul destroying than to finally reach your goal weight and then see it all slipping away at the end because the dieter never learned how to eat a balanced diet at the end of it. Losing weight is such an emotional issue. Sometimes there’s more to it than meets the eye.
